Funny, the way it’s happened – at some point we all left our villages and towns, gathered into big metropolitan hubs, but now we’re trying to find our way back to our small towns, virtually, through Facebook, Twitter, and a bundle of other virtual communities.
Vast amounts of money, resources, experience, belief and enthusiasm - in fact, the best of everything - underpin our client’s Social Utility. And right now, they need a highly experienced communications professional for their Community Manager role. If you hail from a background as a highly accomplished communications professional with a proven track record of customer service and social media networking accomplishment within a similar environment, this could be the role you have been waiting for. The Community Manager will represent both the voice of the Company and the voice of the users of our client’s Social Media Platform. The Community Manager will serve as a hub and will have the ability to personally connect with users and provide feedback to internal departments.
You should have previous in-depth knowledge and expertise in blogging, Twitter, Facebook, You Tube, Foursquare and other similar social media platforms.
The Community Manager will possess the ability to:
Monitor the interaction of users.
Develop engagement strategies with online users and communities.
Moderate and interact with forum discussions.
Provide invaluable feedback for improvement of our client’s platform and services.
Creatively and proactively assist users.
Serve as the initial point of contact for user requests and input from the user community.
Identify and analyze issues, patterns and trends in customer requests and product performance.
Transfer the information to the appropriate departments so that they can respond accordingly:
- bugs to quality assurance;
- new ideas to product development;
- messaging effectiveness to marketing;
- frequently asked questions noted;
- identifying user generated content.
Monitor and participate in online conversations in order to build brand visibility and thought leadership.
Author blog posts, articles, podcasts, videos and screencasts – (all relevant forms of online media) – in order to creatively communicate product uses.
Establish metrics and report on them on a monthly basis including recommendations.
Identify and engage advocates.
Proactively escalate issues, observations, opportunities, and insights to the management team.
Communicate issues, opportunities and insights to the company at large.
Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them, so that the company can continue to proactively adopt new technologies to improve the user experience and the service provided.
Participate in professional networking by interacting with peers and influencers and attending industry events.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate be highly motivated and will have strong drive and energy, the hunger and ambition to succeed, the flexibility and responsiveness to deal with growth and change and a creative strategic approach.
Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and marketing and commercial acumen will be essential.
The position requires an individual who is an accomplished communications professional with a proven track record of customer service and social media networking accomplishment within a similar environment.
